Providence featured TWO performances on the same night, two dates in a row:
It's a case of overwhelming evidence against a young man accused of murdering his father. Eleven jurors are convinced he is guilty. The twelfth can only talk of his innocence.
Providence Fine Arts Center presented:
Reginald Rose's character-study story, adapted by Sherman Sergel,
Twelve Angry Jurors
Is it possible for one juror to stand alone against a mountain of evidence and attitudes set in stone? Will justice prevail?
And:
Would a man intentionally commit a crime for the sole purpose of landing himself in jail? You bet he would, especially if he's homeless and wants to escape the winter elements.
Both shown Friday, May 16, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. and Saturday, May 17th, at 6:00 P.M.

PFAC STAGES NEW MUSICAL
Featuring the music of Keith Green
May 18th and 19th the drama department of Providence Fine Arts Center showed "Prodigal," a retelling of the Prodigal Son based on the music of Keith Green.
Three unique prodigals stumble upon truth in unlikely places. A wannabe hippy in the late sixties, Jonah journeys to find himself and instead encounters fickle friendships. This musical also follows a young woman in the mid-nineties, Carla Jean. After her rise to fame at the expense of every one around her, CJ is forced to take a deeper look at life. Family responsibilities threaten to take away any chance Precious has of becoming the next big track star in her city. Over the course of their lives, these characters are united in their search for ultimate Truth. This was preformed at First Baptist Church of Ferguson.

Adrienne Curry's "Fiesta World" was performed at Ferguson Church of the Nazarene for Joey and Andrew Asaro's youth group at 6:30pm. They had a taste of how to handle ad libbing when a line is missed, but I hear handled it very well. They did a great job and received much applause.

Christian Barfield's "Or My Name Be Ichabod" and Lisa Barfield and Lauren Yarbrough's "The Isle of Phanzi Pants" were performed at Freedom School in their chapel. The elementary students loved seeing a drama for their chapel time. Our drama students fielded questions from the students after the show. Our drama students answered questions such as "Why did the bad guy have to go to jail?" and "Why did the Hippie laugh so much?" They did a fantastic job.

Freedom School Performance - Emily Curry's "Life and Death of Barnaby Richmond" was performed at the Freedom School Chapel. The elementary students loved seeing a drama for their chapel time. The principal, Mrs. Odetta Fields, gave the students a brief introduction to satire before the performance. Our drama students fielded questions from the students after the show. At first the questions were coming a bit slowly, and Andrew Maxwell piped up, "Come on. I know you all want my autograph." To which several second grade girls raised their hands, saying, "I do! I do!" Our drama students answered questions such as "What was the moral of the story." They did a fantastic job. We look forward to performing more at The Freedom School in the future.
